We have a good experience in diploid and tetraploids of
different types such as SUGARBABY TYPE,CHARLESTON GREY & CRIMMSON types.

Sowing Time - May and September
Staggering - Male is sown 4 to 6 days earlier than female to have
sufficient male flowers.
Spacing - Row to Row 1.5 to 1.6 mts.
Plant to
Plant 0.60 to 0.75 mts.
Sowings - All swings are done after pregerminating the seed.
Vine training
- The main shoot is pinched on 5th node.
- Three secondery shoots are allowed to develop.
- On each secondry one healthy female bud is pollinated.
- First bud is removed for allowing good vegetative
growth before pollination.
- The secondery vine is also pinched five to six leaves
after the set seed fruit.
Roguing
- Male parent is thoroughly rogued before the begining
the hybridization process.
- Roguing of female parent is also carried on the basis
of phenotype characters before begining the hybridization
Hybridization
- The selected healthy female bud is bagged in the
afternoon of the day before opening.
- Matured male bud are picked up in the evening of the day
female buds are bagged.
- Bagged female buds open next day morning which are
pollinated between 7am and 9am using 1:1 male:female
ratio.
- Immediately after pollination the female bud is bagged
again with different coloured bag and a thread ring is put
on the peduncle as mark to identify the seed fruit.
Seed extraction
- Matured fruits are harvested and stored for two days.
- Seed fruits are cut open to two halves and seed
extracted ,washed and dried properly.
- Then the seed is conditioned, tested and shipped.
